About the practice

Guiding you toward brighter days.

We’re a team of licensed counselors who believe everyone deserves a safe space to be heard. Whether you’re navigating stress, relationship challenges, or big life changes, we listen first and work with you to find practical steps forward — together.

Our approach is warm, evidence-based, and tailored to your goals. From individual therapy to couples and family sessions, we make it easy to start, stay, and succeed on your mental-wellness journey. No judgment — just genuine support.

My Story

My journey began in law enforcement here in Indiana. Serving as an officer provided a firsthand look at the moments when life feels most chaotic — and the deep need for specialized mental health support, not just for community members in crisis, but for the first responders standing beside me.

I transitioned into education, serving as a school counselor for over six years with students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Then, in private practice, I earned my LMHC, realizing that my diverse background let me connect with people from all walks of life.

I founded Sunrise Counseling to fill a gap: a practice that understands the grit of a first responder, the complexity of a developing child, and the weight of navigating life’s most difficult chapters.

How we help

Care that meets you where you are.

Specialized, evidence-based support for the challenges that matter to you most.

Anxiety

Quiet the constant background noise. We address the root of anxious thoughts and give you tangible tools for racing minds, restlessness, and daily overwhelm.

Depression

When motivation is hard to find and the days feel heavy, we provide a compassionate space to process, rediscover energy, and build a sustainable path toward hope.

Trauma & PTSD

Past experiences shouldn’t dictate your future. We use evidence-based approaches to process trauma safely and reduce the power of emotional triggers.

First Responder Support

Specialized care for police, fire, EMS, and healthcare professionals. Process occupational trauma, combat burnout, and manage the transition between front lines and home.

Relationships & Couples

Repair trust, improve communication, and navigate family dynamics. We help break negative cycles and foster secure, collaborative bonds.

Self-Esteem

Quiet the inner critic. Challenge deep-seated self-doubt and build a more compassionate, resilient sense of worth.

Infertility

A specialized space for the grief, stress, and complex decisions that come with starting or growing a family — for you and your partner.

Life Transitions

Career changes, moves, prenatal and postpartum shifts. We help you find your footing and move into your next chapter with confidence.

Grief & Loss

A patient, supportive space to honor your experience, process the complex emotions of mourning, and find a way to carry loss while still moving forward.

Care Across the Lifespan
